Evelyn's Story

Evelyn is a beautiful mare with a gentle, affectionate nature who is looking for a home as a Non-Ridden Companion. She has a straightforward temperament and takes most things in her stride. She is easy to handle and loves attention, particularly when she is being groomed. On rare occasions she may snatch her leg back from the farrier, but with patience and understanding she is very well behaved.

Evelyn can live out all year or be stabled overnight. Since being at Redwings, she has always been respectful of fencing and has happily lived with both mares and geldings. She gets on well with her field companions, and her relaxed temperament means she tends to sit lower in the pecking order. She has not been left without company during her time with us, but she may manage short periods alone if this is introduced carefully and gradually.

Evelyn came to Redwings when she was young. She was found living in the appalling conditions with many others horses all in need of veterinary attention.
