Bowie's Story

Bowie is a handsome and incredibly sweet gelding who is looking for a home as a non-ridden companion.

Bowie is a sensitive boy who needs an understanding and experienced Guardian. He is good to handle but he can become worried at times and in those moments, he relies on his handler for reassurance. Bowie needs a competent handler who will be unphased by any nervous behaviour and who can help build his confidence.

It can take a little while for Bowie to trust, and his new Guardian must be willing to visit him two or possibly three times before taking him home, so we can be confident that he is comfortable and beginning to build trust.

He enjoys being out in the field with his friends and he is a brilliant companion. He has been turned out with mares and geldings and gets on well with other horses.

Bowie came to Redwings as a foal after he was found in a bad way. He was very sick and required immediate veterinary attention. Luckily, thanks to our dedicated vet team, he made a great recovery but sadly he still finds it difficult to trust and he is looking for a long-term, sympathetic home that will show him the love he deserves.
