I started working for Redwings at our Aylsham Visitor Centre when it very first opened. It was brilliant watching the centre grow, and to see more and more people enjoying the site and the horses that live here.
I began my career at Redwings as a member of the visitor centre team, welcoming visitors, serving in the shop and café, promoting our Adoption Scheme, and explaining more about Redwings’ work and why it’s such an important charity.
I really enjoyed talking to people about our horses and working among our wonderful residents. And now I am lucky enough to work with the horses all of the time! I saw an opportunity as a farm team member at another of our Norfolk sites and jumped at the chance to get even more hands on.
Fortunately, I am still able to communicate with our supporters though as I am also part of the events team, representing Redwings at local county shows such as the Aylsham Show and Norfolk Show.
My Redwings resident soft spot: Amigo is my favourite Redwings resident. He had very bad liver damage when Redwings rescued him and needs lots of ongoing special care as a result. He is so sweet and just loves people, and is such a good example of a pony whose life has been saved by Redwings!
