Did you know that chocolate is poisonous to horses? Or that they can’t digest dairy products? Even some wild plants can be toxic to our equine friends.
Country and Stable have created an infographic to help raise awareness of some common substances that are unhealthy or even poisonous to horses.
Redwings’ sanctuary vet Melissa Baker supported the production of the infographic. “Every owner should know what their horse can and can’t safely eat,” says Melissa. “Unlike humans, horses can’t be sick if they eat something poisonous so we have to make sure they don’t have the chance to nibble anything toxic in the first place.”
