Oompa Loompa's story Oompa Loopma arrived at Redwings in 2016 as part of a group who were rescued from Bodmin Moors. They were all named after characters from Roald Dahl 's books. She is now ready to find a Guardian home. Oompa Loopma is a very sweet pony with lots of potential. She is proving to enjoy her training very much. She is good to catch, lead, tie up and groom. She is also well behaved for the vet and the farrier. Oompa Loopma is still young so can be nervous of new things. She stables happily but can be a little wary to begin with. We feel Oompa Loompa will make a lovely companion because she gets on very well with other horses. With more training we feel she could be left for short periods of time, although this would need to be done gradually. She will happily come in and leave her friends in the field. Oompa Loompa hasn’t been backed at our rehoming centre due to her size but with her sweet nature she could also be rehomed as an unbacked project as she has the potential to be a lead rein pony in the future. Like many ponies of her size, Oompa Loompa will need her weight monitoring closely and will require restricted grazing when needed. My perfect partner Oompa Loopma would make a lovely companion to another horse or unbacked project. She would suit a quiet and patient Guardian who can continue her training to fulfil her potential. Max rider height: 4ft 4" Max rider weight: 6st My perfect home Paddock: Approx 1 acre, restricted as necessary Shelter: Field shelter only would be ok Companionship: Either mares or geldings
