Redwings Oxhill recently had a visit from Wellesbourne Rugby Club who very kindly donated several of their old rugby balls to Adoption Star Arya and all her donkey pals to play with!

The club, who are associated with Harbury Rugby Club, contacted the visitor centre to discuss donating the balls and to arrange a little visit to the sanctuary so the team members could deliver them in person.

They were welcomed to Redwings Oxhill by the visitor centre team and field officer Tracey Curtis who took them to meet the donkeys and hand deliver the rugby balls (14 in total!). Donkey enrichment is a really important part of caring for these lovable long-eared creatures and these balls are a perfect way to keep them entertained!

The team then had a few pictures with the donkeys, spent some time having a look around the rest of the centre and then enjoyed a cup of coffee in the Nosebag Café before hitting the road to head home.

The donkeys were extremely pleased with their new toys and are looking forward to kicking them around in their paddock when the weather improves!
