Spot arrived at Redwings in May 2013. She was one of three ponies found in poor body condition at a site in Essex. Spot had a Body Condition Score of just 0.5. A healthy BCS would be 3. Sadly one of the ponies had to be put to sleep due to advanced liver failure, and the rest were brought to Redwings for a safe and secure future.
Spot is a sweet natured mare who is good to handle, lead and groom. She enjoys fuss and attention but can become anxious in new situations. She requires consistent leg-handling training to ensure she remains confident with people touching her back legs.
Spot can come in to a stable at night or live out 24/7 with either mares or geldings. She can become attached to other horses and is best suited to a home environment where she is never left on her own.
She can be prone to weight gain, and therefore may need her weight monitored and grazing restricted if necessary.
Paddock: Under 1 acre, restricted grazing as necessary
Shelter: Field shelter or natural shelter
Companionship: Either mares or geldings
Spot enjoys lots of attention but needs a sympathetic Guardian with the time and patience she needs to gradually build up her confidence.
Molly is a beautiful mare suited to live with either mares or geldings - and has been known to give young horses lots of motherly love!
Arista is a lovely mare looking for a patient and loving new home.
Graham is a sweet gelding with a kind nature and will be a rewarding companion for a new Guardian to love.
Molly is a very sweet mare looking for a home with a quiet and sympathetic Guardian to continue building her confidence.
