Earlier this year, Redwings and the British Horse Society sponsored a special event which brought together leaders from across the equine community to discuss the better prevention and management of strangles.
The symposium, entitled ‘Working Together To Stamp Out Strangles’, took place at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh in March and was one of many activities this year planned to coincide with our own Stamp Out Strangles campaign.
The day provided the chance for attendees, which included veterinarians, farriers, yard managers, equestrian governing bodies and welfare charities, to share their latest research and discuss what more the sector could do to work together to influence better biosecurity practices.

Organisers of the symposium have now formed a Strangles Working Group to take forward actions suggested from the event and the first meetign took pace at Redwings this month.
