January 2018 marked 10 years since one of the most momentous rescues in our history – the Amersham rescue, which saw over 100 horses, ponies and donkeys saved from unthinkable neglect at Spindle Farm.
Our spring newsletter takes you through what happened on that fateful day, how we utilised new laws protecting animals to rescue as many as we possibly could, and the challenges Redwings faced in the coming years as the case went to trial. You can watch our Amersham 10 documentary and hear from those involved in the rescue by clicking here.
Out of the 60 horses and donkeys from Spindle Farm we offered a safe forever home to at the Sanctuary, plus six foals born to rescued mares, an incredible 58 are still with us today – either enjoying life at the Sanctuary or within living Guardian homes. See the amazing transformations of the Amersham survivors here.
