Diary of a (not-so-much) trainee runner

Running for Redwings

Distance: British 10k – 6.21 miles

Time: 68 minutes – My dad came in at 59 minutes, go Patrick!

Weather: Think the summer arrived in time for the runners!

What Dennis did: Spurred me on every step of the way

On Sunday 10th July, I conquered the Vitality British 10k London Run, complete with two working knees and only a little limp, in 1 hour 8 minutes. The atmosphere was electric and my weeks and weeks of training – come rain (mostly) or shine – definitely paid off.

Together with my dad we raised £1,093.25 and I couldn’t be more grateful or more proud.

Thank you so much to everyone who has supported us with your wonderful words of encouragement and donations. And extra special thanks have to go to my inspiration, my running coach and my friend, Dennis!

Next challenge…a half marathon perhaps? #Running4Redwings
