Thank you Whickr!

We’d like to share our thanks to Whickr who are supporting Redwings Horse Sanctuary, through promoting our rehoming scheme alongside responsible equine sales. Whickr’s mission is simple: to make it easier for horses to find the right homes. As the UK’s equestrian marketplace, they connect buyers and sellers through their platform, where you can browse horses for sale in the UK with transparency and welfare in mind.

But that’s not all, they also provide guides, buyer education, and partnerships that support responsible ownership. Their collaboration with Redwings is part of this commitment– by kindly offering our charity a platform to advertise rehoming horses for free, they are hoping to ensure equines in need get the visibility they deserve.

Buying, selling and rehoming horses is a normal part of equestrian life, but it has to be done responsibly. Poor matches, vague adverts, or rushed decisions don’t just frustrate owners– they can affect a horse’s long-term welfare.

Putting welfare at the centre of every decision 

 

Whickr’s platform aims to make it easier for sellers to create transparent listings, while buyers have access to guides on budgeting, pre-purchase vettings, and choosing a reputable dealer. These tools are designed to make decisions clearer, reduce mismatches, and ultimately put welfare at the centre of every decision.  

Rehoming plays a vital role in equine welfare. Charities like Redwings work tirelessly to place horses in suitable homes where they will be loved and cherished, and with Whickr’s help we can share our rehoming horses with experienced equestrians who have the knowledge and kindness to rehome a rescued horse.  

That’s why Whickr provides registered equine charities like us with the ability to list horses and ponies eligible for rehoming free of charge. It’s a straightforward but powerful way of helping more equines reach the right people. 

Every horse deserves the right match. Whether that’s through a charity rehoming process or a responsible sale, the outcome should always be the same: a suitable, lasting home and a happy horse and human partnership.

Whickr exists to make that outcome more likely. By supporting rehoming charities, providing buyer education, and encouraging transparency, they aim to show that technology can improve welfare across the equestrian world. Thank you Whickr!
