Keep Horses In Mind

Help keep the pressure on!

This year, the government held a consultation on fireworks - it is now closed and responses are being reviewed. HUGE thanks to everyone who contributed to this.

But just because it’s closed doesn’t mean we’re stopping our campaign, this is the time to keep the pressure on. We need to make MPs aware of how fireworks affect you, your animals and how their support can make a difference.

We are co-hosting a fireworks impact drop-in event in Parliament on 4th November, and we need your help to encourage MPs to attend so we can speak directly to them about the impact of fireworks.

This is an opportunity to keep fireworks front and centre of the agenda with MPs and ensure  the response to the consultation results in the change we all want to see.

Ask your neighbours to Go Low!

If you’re looking for an active way to support the campaign and protect animals from fireworks this season, please join Go Low - our initiative to encourage everyone to choose low-noise fireworks this autumn.

Low noise fireworks are the best alternative for people who are not yet ready to give up fireworks entirely. But we need your help to get the message out and persuade anyone using fireworks to Go Low!

For ease, we’ve created social media assets to share with your friends and printable posters for you to use in your local area. We also have sets of postcards available, see below!

Encouraging others to Go Low.

We know lots of people are already against firework use or are with us in wanting everyone to Go Low.

If you want more people to Go Low - spread the word in your local community. Remember to be polite and respectful and to thank people who adopt a more responsible approach to fireworks!

Share our low-noise postcards to spread the word in your area.

“Horses die or are injured in fireworks-related incidents every year and Redwings wholeheartedly welcomes the tighter regulations that Scotland has introduced and is calling on Westminster to follow their lead."

Helen Whitelegg

Research and Policy Officer

“The financial cost of the extra measures we take during the fireworks season is not insignificant to a charity like ours, but obviously our residents’ welfare is our top priority, and we do everything we can to keep them safe and happy.”

Lynn Cutress

Chief Executive
