It’s not every day you see two donkeys standing outside your local supermarket, but Adoption Stars Timothy and Cain from Redwings Oxhill took a trip to Sainsbury’s in Wellesbourne, near Stratford-upon-Avon, to collect a generous (and delicious!) donation of carrots… and took the opportunity to enjoy lots of cuddles with passers-by while they were at it.
The supermarket’s lovely staff and shoppers had collected an overflowing box of the scrummy vegetables for our residents in honour of International Carrot Day, which took place on 4th April. And lucky Timothy and Cain were even treated to their very own beautifully-decorated, donkey-friendly carrot cake made by staff member Valerie Cunningham!
We’d like to say a big thank you to Sainsbury’s and everyone who donated so many yummy treats for our residents!
To celebrate International Carrot Day, we’ve been asking visitors to all Redwings centres throughout April to donate a bag of carrots or give £1 towards funding healthy snacks for our rescued residents. Find out more here and look out for our Carrot Drop Stops during your next visit!
