Our wonderful supporters never cease to amaze us with what they get up to in an effort to raise funds for Redwings! Tricia Peet from Hampshire definitely deserves special recognition for possibly the muddiest fundraising venture ever!
Tricia took up the Nuts Challenge last year with six friends and raised an incredible £325 for Redwings. The Nuts Challenge involves a seven mile hike through extremely muddy terrain on an army assault course with 100 obstacles en route! Definitely not for the faint-hearted!
A committed Redwings supporter, Tricia visits her Adoption Star residents Rumpel, Timothy and Cain at our Oxhill Visitor Centre as often as she can. “I have a real love of horses and find it very distressing to see how badly they are sometimes treated,” says Tricia. “I am so pleased there is a place like Redwings for them to go and be looked after.”
Despite finishing the course covered in cuts and bruises, and aching for several weeks afterwards, Tricia says she thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and even plans to do it again this year to raise even more money for the rescued horses, ponies and donkeys at the Sanctuary!
Huge thanks to Tricia for doing so much for horses in need – definitely a #RedwingsAngel under all that mud!
