Our Aylsham Visitor Centre recently received a very special visit from the children of Helping Hands Childcare, North Walsham, who came to present Redwings with a cheque for £176!
Childminder Joanne Pitt had set the children the challenge of selling as many raffle tickets as they could to their family and friends to help raise funds for the horses, donkeys, ponies and mules in our care.
Joanne said she wanted to raise money for Redwings as she regularly takes the children on day visits to Redwings Aylsham and had even adopted their favourite mischievous Shetland ponies, The Gangsters, on their behalf.
She added: “I think Redwings Aylsham is absolutely fantastic. The staff always make us feel so welcome and take time to speak to the children. My little girl also loves horses and animals so we wanted to fundraise for something that was close to all our hearts.”
We’d like to say a big thank you to Joanne, her family, and the children and parents of Helping Hands Childcare for their fantastic fundraising efforts!
Their generosity could help pay for 17 poorly horses to have their stables filled with cosy bedding, or fund the day-to-day care of 21 of our rescued residents, so will make a real difference.
