Awards evening raises £260 for Redwings!

Fundraisers make a real difference to Redwings rescued horses

Over £260 was raised for Redwings during a glittering night for members of Grey Fern Park Equestrian Centre at Whittlesey, near Peterborough.

Riders swapped their muddy jodhpurs for posh frocks as they celebrated their achievements over the past summer season during an awards evening in December 2016.

Following the presentation of over 20 trophies and shields, a raffle of generously donated goods and services took place which raised over £200.

A competition to guess how many lollipops were in a jar added a further £63 to the fantastic fundraising total.

This wonderful amount could fund health checks for five new arrivals to the Sanctuary or provide enough hay to feed 17 rescued horses for a month. That’s music to the ears of our adorable Breakfast Group (pictured) at Redwings Oxhill who love to tuck into their hay!

Barbara Saunders, owner of Grey Fern Park Equestrian Centre, chose to fundraise for Redwings because of her lifetime love of horses and the work we do to transform the lives of abandoned and neglected horses.

Thank you to everyone at Grey Fern Park Equestrian Centre and we wish you the best of look in all your future riding competitions.
