Miniature railway makes a big difference to Redwings

The East Herts Miniature Railway, located in Great Amwell, has been established for over 35 years and is run entirely by enthusiastic volunteers.

Visitors are charged £1 for a ride on the railway and, after covering costs of maintenance, the funds are saved up and divided out to different charities every Christmas. This year Redwings were chosen as one of those lucky charities, receiving a fantastic £500!

Debbie Johnston, Fundraising Coordinator at Redwings, visited the railway and was presented with the cheque, which will make a real difference to our horses, ponies, donkey and mules!

Their generosity could fund the day-to-day care of 60 residents, or could pay for 10 rescued horses to have a full health check.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the railway for their support!
