Long-term Redwings supporter Fay Butlin recently organised a fun dressage day and raised £460.05 for Redwings!
The event, which took place at Seal Brook Livery in Derbyshire, attracted 25 entries with classes covering all abilities, from introductory to advanced medium.
Alongside the dressage day, Fay ran a bake sale, a bottle tombola and one lady even raffled off her tack cleaning services!
British Dressage judge Sam Gawn also kindly judged the whole day for free and professional photographer Emma Bearman donated her fee for the day to Redwings too.
Fay said: “My sister and I have been supporters of Redwings since we were very young, pony-loving girls. A family member adopted Polly and Jessie for us and we continued to adopt them for many years. Since then we try and periodically hold a big event to raise more money.”
She added: “This year, I decided to hold a fun dressage day, being a keen dressage rider myself. There are lots of riders at our yard who don’t compete as they don’t feel they’re good enough so this dressage day was a great event for them to join in with no pressure.
“It was a really fun and relaxed event, which was enjoyed by many and raised a nice amount of money for a wonderful charity.”
