In Memory of Bailey

JustGiving helped Shaun raise £500 in memory of his horse Bailey

Shaun Copeman completed the Norwich 100-mile cycle ride for Redwings after he and his partner Toni sadly lost their beautiful 20-year-old, 18hh Irish Draft X, called Bailey.

“We owned Bailey for nine years but could never get him into his trailer. Mark and Julie Hudson, Redwings’ External Handling team who work with troubled horses in their homes, came to us and amazingly had Bailey walking in and out of his trailer within 15 minutes!

"However it was no quick fix. Mark and Julie had us practicing 2-3 times a week and would help us progress at each next step. Before long Bailey was loading and we were off on our travels. We even had the most wonderful day at Holkham Beach, which was Toni's dream.

"Bailey sadly died very suddenly this year. Although the vets could not save him, because of the hard work of Mark and Julie, we were able to load Bailey into his trailer and get him to the vet hospital to give him the greatest possible chance of survival.”

Thank you so much Shaun!
