Caldecott Latest

17 June 09 by Redwings Press Office

Little and large will meet on June 28th!

On Sunday June 28th we will be celebrating the birthday of tiny adoption Shetland Sampson at our Caldecott centre, and this year there will be a bit of a twist! This year it really will be a day of extremes as we will also be introducing you all to our brand new adoption horse, Prince, who is a Shire x Clydesdale and stands at an enormous 18hh! Prince has already become a firm favourite at the centre and if you haven't met him already we know you will love him!

Sampson's birthday parade will be at 1pm but there will be fun and games going on throughout the day and everyone is welcome. Best of all, entry is free! We'd love to see you!

Ponies by the Sea!

Our Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk has over seventy acres of paddocks and is home to some very special rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules.

This Quality Assured Visitor Attraction is open during the Summer season from March to October and has many lovely residents to meet, from handsome Shire Victor to the notorious Denise, a very naughty donkey!

What to do

There are tractor rides (weather permitting), walking tours, horse care demos and a children’s play area as well as the chance to rub noses with our residents!

The site also has a café, gift shop, information centre, charity shop, tombola and the Horse Wise Education Centre with horsey facts and interactive displays.

The new, improved café menu includes jacket potatoes, paninis and baguettes, afternoon tea, soups and delicious cakes. We are serving Fair Trade teas and coffees too and every Wednesday we offer all Senior Citizens a 10% discount in our café - please come along and see us soon!
