Caldecott Visitor CentreLocationAt Caldecott Hall, situated on the A143 between Great Yarmouth and Beccles (opposite Fritton Lake Countryworld). For satellite navigation, our postcode is NR31 9EY. Please note: We regret that there is temporarily no sign outside the road entrance to the centre. We hope to resolve this problem as soon as we can, but in the meantime we apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you can still find us ok! Please telephone 0870 040 0033 or download our PDF map for detailed directions. Opening hoursOur Caldecott Centre is now open for the Summer, daily from 10am to 5pm. Entry is free of charge. Darcey and Muffin travelled back to our Hapton Horse Hospital for some veterinary treatment on Wednesday 14th May. Darcey had a foot abscess which required treatment, while Muffin's eye problem has unfortunately returned and he needed to be assessed by our vet team. Darcey has now returned to Caldecott but Muffin will need to stay at Hapton for a short while longer. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Our Caldecott Visitor Centre has over seventy acres of paddocks and is home to some very special rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and a few mules. The majority of our adoption horses live at Caldecott during the summer months, from the very beautiful pony Darcey to the notorious Denise, our most mischievous donkey, who does like to meet her fans. The next Bank Holiday Monday (August 25th) will see extra themed activities taking place at all three of our visitor centres, in Norfolk, Essex and Warwickshire. The day will centre around Redwings' welfare work - details to follow. Admission is free. Facilities Our Caldecott site has an Information & Welcome Centre, Nosebag Café and terrace, Gift Shop, donated goods charity shop, Tombola and the Horse Wise Education Centre with horsey facts, displays and interactives. The new, improved café menu includes jacket potatoes, paninis and baguettes, afternoon tea, soups and delicious cakes. We are serving Fair Trade teas and coffees too. We are delighted to announce that every Wednesday we will be offering all Senior Citizens a 10% discount in our café - please come along and see us soon! Some feedback from our visitors …“full marks all round, even my dog was made welcome”… “the tour was brilliant, very helpful and horse care talk very informative and worthwhile” … “you are doing an excellent job, you can tell the animals are well looked after, keep up the good work.”
