Have a Donkey-tastic time at Redwings Aylsham this half term!
We love donkeys at Redwings Aylsham and can’t wait to share that passion with our visitors in a programme of special donkey themed events this coming half term!
The spotlight will be on our irresistible rescued donkeys, including Adoption Star favourites Wiggins and Wacko. Who could resist getting up close to these long-eared lovelies and finding out just how extraordinary donkeys really are?
There’ll be donkey themed walks and talks, hands on grooming sessions for our younger visitors and special demonstrations from our donkey-mad team. We’re also offering Donkey Doodle activity packs and Donkey Dash activity sheets so there really will be something for all the family!
Visitors can also enjoy all that the wonderful Redwings Aylsham site has to offer with more than 40 fabulous rescued residents, all with a story to tell, and our newly created wildlife walk to help everyone make the most of this beautiful corner of Norfolk countryside.
Along with a very warm welcome, there will be a full range of hot and cold drinks and snacks available in our stunning and fully accessible visitor centre. The shop area is stocked with a great range of gifts, toys and tempting Redwings goodies and, as if that wasn’t enough, there will even be a giant soft toy sale this half-term too!
Redwings Aylsham is open from Friday to Monday every weekend and will be offering We Love Donkeys special activities from Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th May and from Friday 29th to Sunday 31st May. Entry to Redwings Aylsham is completely free but please note that a suggested donation is required for some activities. In the heart of North Norfolk
Redwings Aylsham Visitor Centre is a beautiful site in the heart of the North Norfolk countryside and is home to some of Redwings’ loveable residents, like beautiful adoption stars Maya, Gulliver, the ever mischievous ‘Gangster’ Shetlands, and adorable donkeys Wiggins and Wacko.
This free to enter visitor attraction is currently open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 4pm. That’s plenty of time to get some cuddles in with our furry friends.
What to do
As well as having many stunning horses and ponies, the site has a café serving delicious refreshments, a gift shop selling fantastic momentos of your day, and a well equipped children’s play area. Our farm staff are also on hand to answer any of your horsey questions, they also offer walking tours and horse care demos…

Some of the paddocks are accessible although may be difficult to navigate in adverse weather conditions. There is a fully accessible, purpose built stable facility where ponies can be brought in and groomed, there is also a fully accessible WC as well as disabled parking.
