In
the past Redwings has always operated as a home for horses in need, providing
a permanent place of sanctuary for equines with no potential for a working
life. Any horses and ponies that could be re-homed have been found new
homes with the help of other equine welfare organisations.
However, our welfare rescues have increasingly included some young stock
with the potential for a working life. We decided the time was right
to establish our own
Re-homing Centre and Guardianship Scheme so we can provide these equines
with a fulfilling life outside the Sanctuary, while still keeping them
under the watchful eye of Redwings.
Following a merger with the Harlow-based Ada Cole Memorial Stables in
October 2005, we have benefited from their many years’ of re-homing experience
and are now able to re-home from both our Parklands Re-homing Centre
in Norfolk and the Ada Cole Rescue Centre in Essex.
Please note: We currently only re-home to Guardians in Norfolk,
Suffolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire, although we will also consider homes
in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
