I have enjoyed 13 years working at Redwings within our Supporter Services team. I am really passionate about horses, having had them as a child and my most recent horse, Kitty, has been my companion for the last nine years.

Much of my role involves speaking with Redwings supporters, which is my favourite part of the job. It’s always great to speak with others who care about horse welfare as much as we do, and for me, that is incredibly rewarding. Sometimes, I have been known to shed a tear when hearing certain stories from our supporters!

In a way, it is a shame that charities like Redwings need to exist to pick up the pieces and for animals to be treated unkindly, but I feel extremely proud to be working here as I really do feel honoured to be able to do my bit for horse welfare. I often think to myself through the course of the day, “Where would these horses be without us?” and it’s difficult to think of the answer. That’s why I’m such a huge Redwings supporter.

Redwings resident soft spot: There are too many to choose from, but those rescued from Spindle Farm in Amersham - like Tinkerbell and Rumpel - have a particularly special place in my heart because of all that they had to overcome!
