Young horse fans can enjoy an exciting peek into the world of Redwings this summer with a series of fun and free activities for children over the school holidays.
All of our visitor centres will be hosting a free Summer Club for children aged six to 11 – and bookings are being taken now!
The Summer Club will provide a taster of what it’s like to be a Redwings vet, a field officer, a farrier and even a horsey dentist with hands-on activities including giving a rescued horse a mini health check, filling tasty haynets, making-up comfy stables for poorly horses and creating enrichment toys for donkeys.
Attendees will also have the chance to enjoy plenty of cuddles with our adorable four-legged residents too, of course.

Redwings Mountains (Scotland), starting on Monday 2nd July

Places for each 45-minute session are booked on a first-come, first-served basis, and parents/guardians can sign-up their children at the visitor centre that day, or book in advance by emailing email@example.com.
Andie Vilela, Education and Campaigns Manager, said: “If you’re a budding equine vet or farrier of the future, or you just love animals, the Redwings Summer Club is a really exciting opportunity to get hands on, guided by those who look after our rescued horses and donkeys day in and out.
“We hope as many children as possible will be able to come along to find out more about these wonderful animals – and have fun!”
All of our visitor centres are open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays), 10am to 4pm, and entry is completely free!
