On Wednesday 12th of April, Redwings’ Head Veterinary Surgeon Nicky Jarvis kicks off our 2017 free seminars for horse owners at our Aylsham Visitor Centre to cover the basics and share the latest knowledge on laminitis – possibly one of the most worrying conditions that horse owners aim to prevent. In fact, laminitis (and underlying hormonal condition known as PPID) both feature in the top five equine health problems in the UK reported last year in the National Equine Health Survey.
Doors will be opening at 6.30pm to give attendees the chance to enjoy a complimentary drink before the talks begin at 7pm.
Redwings' Registered Veterinary Nurse Anna Clarke, recently published in the esteemed Equine Health magazine, will also be presenting at the event. She’ll inspire you to think creatively about how to promote stimulation for a horse on box rest and provide examples of good practice from our Horse Hospital.
Finally, the evening will conclude with a presentation from Redwings' Education & Campaigns Manager Andie Vilela, with a focus on assessing the “need to feed” and giving you the chance to brush up on your weight management skills, in particular how to body condition score.
Most importantly, and in keeping with the relaxed and informal evening, the team will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the care of your horse.
To book your free place simply email at education@redwings.co.uk or ring 01508 481066.
