Mighty little Shetland Sampson turns 15!

Miniature Shetland pony Sampson will be celebrating his 15th birthday with a special birthday bash at Redwings Caldecott on Sunday 1st July – and everyone is invited!

Sampson’s day will kick-off at 11.30am when he’ll be treated a pampering groom – his favourite! Visitors will then be able to treat Sampson to plenty of cuddles during his parade, before watching him tuck into his very own birthday cake.

There’ll also be party games, a quiz trail and the chance to meet mascot Red!

Sampson has been a Redwings resident for 14 years, having arrived at Redwings when he was just one year old and suffering from a nasty disease called strangles. Sadly, his owner could not provide the specialist treatment he needed and so asked Redwings for help. Thankfully little Sampson made a full recovery, before later becoming a popular member of the Redwings Adoption Scheme!

After Sampson's party, be sure to take a stroll around the rest of the visitor centre and enjoy meeting some of the 120 other lovable rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who also call Redwings Caldecott home.

Redwings Caldecott, near Great Yarmouth, is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Entry is free and dogs on leads are welcome.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
