Our mighty but mini Shetland pony Sampson will be celebrating his 14th birthday with a special party at Redwings Caldecott on Sunday 2nd July – and everyone is invited!
This cheeky Adoption Star’s big day will kick-off at 11.30am with his favourite thing – a good ol’ groom! Sampson will then parade in front of all his visitors and enjoy plenty of cuddles before tucking into his very own birthday cake.
There’ll also be party games to play, a quiz trail to enjoy and the chance to meet our mascot, Red!
You can see the full schedule for Sampson’s birthday party here.
Little Sampson was rescued in 2004 when he was just one year old and was suffering from a nasty disease called strangles. His owner could not provide the specialist treatment he needed and so asked Redwings for help. We were delighted that plucky Sampson made a full recovery and he soon became an incredibly popular member of our Adoption Club.
Following his party, you can enjoy a stroll around the rest of the visitor centre and meet some of the 120 other lovable rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules who we’re sure would adore some extra fuss too!
Then why not pop into our Nosebag Café for a tasty snack and a warm cuppa? There’s also an on-site gift shop full of souvenirs to take home and treasure.
Redwings Caldecott, near Great Yarmouth, is open every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 10am to 4pm (closed Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays). Entry is free and dogs on leads are welcome.
We look forward to welcoming you!
