Raring to go for the Redwings Show!

Redwings Show 2018

We are pleased to announce that we are now welcoming entries for the annual Redwings Show to be held at Topthorn Equestrian Centre, near Stowmarket, Suffolk, on Sunday 13th May.

The show, now in its ninth year, will continue to offer a varied schedule with classes for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned show-goers.

Once again our popular rescue classes will return and this year they will be extra-special as they will be the Amersham 10 Ridden Best Rescue and Amersham 10 In-hand Best Rescue classes as we mark the 10-year-anniversary of the notorious rescue of over 100 horses and donkeys from Spindle Farm in Amersham.

As always, the rescue classes will be open to rescued horses or ponies from any registered charity, but to mark this special year the entry fee from these classes will go towards our special Amersham 10 fund. So, by entering the class and strutting their stuff, these rescued horses and their owners will be helping to provide care for our brave survivors for another 10 years and beyond!

Other classes on offer include Working Hunter, Veteran and Heavy Horse classes, as well as traditional In-hand and Ridden Showing classes. But the fun doesn’t stop there, as we also have a dedicated Novice Ring, and Just for Fun classes, perfect for those horses and riders looking for a friendly and supportive show to get some practice in the show-ring or for a fun day out with their four-legged friend.

Once again we will also be holding Donkey Breed Society Affiliated classes open to both members and non-members and we always love seeing our long-eared competitors there!

But that’s not all! We’re also delighted to welcome back Diss Event Photography to the show. They will be there capturing and printing you memories of the day for you to take home with you. Plus, our kind friends at Spillers have donated £100 of feed vouchers for the lucky winner of the Spillers Best Condition Championship!

Redwings Show organiser Jude Palmer said: “We hope that our schedule will continue to offer something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming lots of competitors, old and new to the show!

“In this special Amersham 10 commemorative year, we are delighted that our Rescue Classes will continue to showcase just what any rescued horses and ponies can do given a second chance. Hopefully we will even have some of our own rehomed Amersham survivors compete to show just how far they have come since their rescue from such appalling conditions.”
