If you own or care for a horse, don’t miss our first evening veterinary seminar of 2020, taking place on Tuesday 7th April in the beautiful setting of Redwings Aylsham.
Always popular, our friendly evenings are packed with fascinating facts and practical advice. April’s seminar will explore the fascinating world of equine eyes with Redwings veterinary surgeon Nicola Berryman.
Eye problems are consistently in the top five categories of horse health concerns faced by owners each year according to the annual National Equine Health Survey. As Nicola explains: “Horses have the largest eyes of any land mammal, which are vulnerable to a number of common and potentially serious conditions. Checking eyes routinely, spotting problems early and knowing when to get help are all key to keeping our horses ‘looking well’."
After a break, we will then turn our attention to horses’ feet as Redwings veterinary nurses Lindsey and Lou take us through the art of making the perfect poultice.
Poultices are an essential part of treating common problems such as a hoof abscess. Practice makes perfect when it comes to creating a poultice that will stay comfortably in place to help draw out infection and keep a wound clean as it heals.
By demonstrating their top tips and explaining how to avoid common mistakes, Lindsey and Lou will soon have you poulticing like a pro!
To book your free place, simply email education@redwings.co.uk or ring Charlotte on 01508 481055. Doors will open at 6.30pm, with talks starting at 7pm and the evening will finish around 9pm. As always, there will be a warm welcome, complimentary hot drinks and plenty of time for questions.
You can download and print our seminar poster to display at your yard or local tack shop, or look out for social media posts to share.
We look forward to seeing you there!
