Make some new friends at Redwings Ada Cole!

Meet the new residents at Redwings Ada Cole

Visitors to our Ada Cole centre have been besotted with our latest additions; if you haven’t met Griff, Boris, Fred and their friends yet, make a date in your diary to have a cuddle with these wonderful youngsters who just love meeting people!

The group were rescued by Redwings in 2012 after they had been abandoned on land near Cardiff. They were just some of more than 100 abandoned cobs rescued by Redwings and our fellow welfare charities in the first three months of that year, and more than half of those rescued were offered a safe, caring home here with us.

Many of the ponies were suffering from severe worm burdens, liver damage and disease. It has taken months of veterinary care and rehabilitation to bring them back to health but seeing these gorgeous and happy chaps with a full clean bill of health today, we think you’ll agree that all our hard work was well worth it!

We hope that in the future many of these lovely cobs will go on to be rehomed through the charity’s popular Guardianship scheme. In the meantime, we just love watching this lively herd enjoying life and lining up at the fence for cuddles with visitors!

Don’t forget there are more than 70 fabulous rescued residents of all shapes and sizes for you to get to know at Ada Cole and everyone is guaranteed a warm welcome from the fantastic Redwings team. Hot drinks and snacks are always available in the cafĂ© too for those cooler days as we ease into autumn. And as ever, entry and parking are completely free, so there’s no reason not to come and enjoy a cob cuddle for yourself!
