Help Redwings help horses in 2019

There are hundreds of horses in the Sanctuary whose stories we cannot share yet.

Do you remember reading our stories last year about orphaned foals Savannah and Arabella? Perhaps you saw beautiful mare Carmen in our autumn newsletter? It’s so important that we share these incredible stories of rescue and recovery. Because it’s thanks to you, our supporters, that these horses are now enjoying new lives at Redwings.

And there are more. Every year, Redwings helps rescue and care for horses and donkeys found in terrible conditions; abandoned and neglected, unloved and uncared for. But we can’t always tell you their names or share their full stories.

Seeing a horse that has suffered at the hands of humans is one of the most heartbreaking parts of our work. The sensitivity and confidentiality surrounding these cases often mean we can’t tell you about them straight away. It sometimes takes years before justice is served and we can lift the lid on these stories.

For now, we have had to remain silent about three out of every four rescued horses that came in to the Sanctuary last year.

Sadly not all rescued horses recover from their ordeal. But behind every untold story there is a team hard at work to give each horse a fighting chance of survival. Your donations fund everything it takes to provide a future for these animals: fuel for our horse ambulance; emergency treatment for a rescued horse – and every day of care from the moment a horse reaches the Sanctuary.

Every donation helps change a rescued horse’s life at Redwings.

We promise to share more stories from our rescues with you when we can. Until then, please know that – because of you – we are doing all we can to care for these horses. And with your help again this year, we can be there for others that need us. Your donation today can keep us on the frontline in 2019, rescuing and providing a place of safety for horses in need. Thank you.

How your donation today could help more horses in need in 2019*

  • £10 could help buy bedding for a stable for a poorly rescued horse
  • £39 could fund a welfare visit to check on a welfare concern
  • £50 could help pay for a health check for a new arrival after rescue

*Your donation is used wherever it is needed most in the Sanctuary, including funding our rescues and the ongoing care of our resident horses and donkeys.
