Also during 2002, Redwings took in 5 black Shetland ponies that were
rescued with horribly overgrown and deformed feet from a home in Norfolk.
Although the eldest of the group, Louis, needed to be put to sleep
soon afterwards, Ella, Nina, Bessie and Dinah all settled in happily.
In the picture you can see Ella and Dinah on one of the paddocks at
the Sanctuary's Hapton farm estate. They have their feet trimmed regularly
by our specialist farrier team to ensure they never experience the
discomfort of deformed feet again.
