Tufty turns twenty!

Tufty the donkey celebrates his twentieth birthday at Caldecott Visitor Centre this weekend.

The cheeky adoption donkey will be hosting his party on Sunday 24 April and there will be donkey talks and all manner of donkey-related activities plus all the usual facilities on offer at our Caldecott Visitor Centre.

Tufty is a mere spring chicken at the age of twenty, as donkeys can often live well into their forties. He is a very friendly donkey who is particularly partial to a ginger biscuit and, truth be told, just loves all the attention of being an adoption donkey.

Tufty lives with a group of nine donkeys at Caldecott, including Denise (pictured with Tufty), a beautiful skewbald jenny who likes to give our staff the run-around! We would encourage you to come along on Sunday to support us and meet the whole gang.

Entry to the Centre is completely free and lucky visitors may even be granted an audience with the great Tufty himself. Plus, as an added bonus there will be an appearance from one of the Sanctuary’s newest arrivals, a mysterious equine who simply goes by the name of ‘Red’ and just loves to be cuddled.

Caldecott Visitor Centre is currently open every week from Sunday-Wednesdays, 10am until 4pm.

For more information, please phone our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033 or see the ‘Visit Us’ pages.
