Spirit
Spirit was originally rescued by a kind lady from being shot by police after he had been running loose on a council estate in the North of England, being chased by youths on motorbikes. He was so frightened that he was threatening to jump through a shop window and on examination afterwards a local vet discovered that while he was loose he had been attacked by dogs, had had fireworks thrown at him, had been beaten with chains and had been electrocuted.

He was understandably absolutely terrified of humans and although his rescuer took him home and made him safe, she was never able to touch him. After five years, Spirit's rescuer contacted us to ask if we could provide Spirit with a permanent loving home and give him the special care and handling he needed to help him trust people again. Although he will never be totally over his experiences, Spirit has come on in leaps and bounds and is now able to have his feet trimmed and be groomed and handled without anxiety or stress. He will have a safe home with us for the rest of his days and currently lives at our rehabilitation yard in Norfolk.
