Our facilities
Our Hapton HQ is home to some of our most poorly or elderly residents and our equine hospital has a fully equipped operating theatre, pharmacy, digital X-ray room and intensive care stables to help us care for them. We carry out around 80 operations a year and having these facilities ourselves is invaluable, particularly when newly arriving rescue cases need specialist care or when we have an emergency such as a colic or injury that needs treating.
It also saves us vital funds if we are able to carry out surgeries and treatments in house, and it means our vets have built up a unique expertise in areas such as caring for the geriatric horse, helping the recovery of a rescue case or maintaining the correct weight for a pony that is prone to laminitis through years of experience.
