Birthday boy!Much-loved adoption pony Oliver Twist celebrated his 14th birthday last year at our Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth. Little Oliver is a grey Welsh pony who stands at just 11hh. He is very special to us - he has a twisted muzzle and came to Redwings when no one else wanted him. He was found by one of our supporters at a horse sale, unwanted and unloved, and she rescued him and asked if we could take him on. At the Sanctuary, Oliver lives a very healthy, full life with other adoption favourites Sydney and Icky and also his best friend Chanel, a pretty palomino mare who is prone to laminitis. Our Caldecott site has an Information & Welcome Centre; Nosebag CafĂ© serving jacket potatoes, sandwiches and cakes; Gift Shop, and the Horse Wise Education Centre with horsey facts, displays and interactive games. Plus, as an added bonus there was an appearance on Sunday from one of the Sanctuary’s newest arrivals, a mysterious equine who simply goes by the name of ‘Red’ and just loves to be cuddled… For information on how to reach us, go to the Visit Us pages or phone our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033.
