Spend your Summer holidays with usThis Summer we are offering an entire holiday season full of special activities...Throughout the Summer holidays we will be holding special activities at all four of our visitor centres. It's a chance to get behind the scenes at Redwings and find out how we help rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and why life at the Sanctuary is so special. The activities are available every weekday from Monday 23 July to Friday 31 August and entry is free! The four visitor centres are at the Redwings Ada Cole Rescue Centre, Harlow, Essex; Caldecott Visitor Centre, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk; Oxhill Rescue Centre, Oxhill, Warwickshire and Stonham Rescue Centre, Stonham Aspal, Suffolk. All our centres are open every day from 10am to 5pm and throughout the holidays each week will follow a different theme with activities, quizzes and demonstrations on subjects such as rescue missions, dealing with problem ponies and re-homing.
Every weekday at 12pm there will be a demonstration relating to the week’s theme and at 2pm there will be a guided tour with plenty of opportunity to ask questions and meet some of our very special rescued residents. There will also be static displays and quizzes so there will be something for all ages whether you enjoy listening to a talk, taking a tour or just indulging in some fuss and cuddles with the horses. The activity weeks have themes. These are Beyond Black Beauty (w/c 23 July), Golden Oldies & Problem Ponies (w/c 30 July), Horsey Haven (w/c 6 August), On to Pastures New (w/c 13 August), Pennies for Ponies (w/c 20 August) and From the Horse’s Mouth (w/c 27 August).
