Happy birthday to Sampson!Come along to our Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk on Sunday, July 1st for a very special birthday party.Our brand new adoption Shetland Sampson turns four on Sunday and we will be holding a birthday party to celebrate. Everyone is welcome and it will be a wonderful opportunity for his new adopters to come along and meet him - we know he would love to meet you too! Sampson's birthday parade will begin at 1pm, complete with lots of cuddles and his own yummy horsey birthday cake. However, the centre is open from 10am to 5pm and there will be activities and tours going on all day. Entry is free and you don't have to adopt Sampson to come along - everyone's welcome.
Sampson is an 8hh rose grey Shetland pony who was rescued by Redwings in 2004. When he was young he was seriously ill with strangles, which can be fatal if left untreated. His owner was unable to provide the specialist care Sampson needed and approached Redwings for our help. We offered him a place at the Sanctuary where he has made a wonderful recovery and is now a picture of health! Sampson has to be monitored to make sure the condition does not reoccur so he will remain in our care where we can provide everything he needs in the future. If you would like to adopt him, it costs just £8.50 a year and all the money raised goes towards the care of Sampson and his friends. You will receive a certificate of adoption, the story of Sampson and a photo; then after six months he will write to you again with an update on how he's getting on in his new life as an adoption pony, and you'll get another photo too!
