Birthday fun at Caldecott on August 12thThis Sunday it's the turn of Caldecott adoptions Rusty and Victor to take the stage!Adorable adoption pony Rusty has his 25th birthday on Sunday August 12th and to celebrate we will be holding a very special birthday party for him at the Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. Everyone's invited and entry is free of charge! Lovely Rusty is a long-term Redwings resident after he was rescued in a very poor state back in 1983. He has now reached the grand age of 25 but is still a real spring chicken and has even been known to jump the odd fence when separated from his beloved friend April!
Meanwhile, handsome Shire Victor celebrates his birthday next week and he will be sharing the limelight with Rusty on Sunday so as many people as possible can come along and celebrate with him. Victor was rescued by another sanctuary who asked Redwings to take him on when they couldn't find him a home. At over 18 hands high Victor is one of the tallest horses at Redwings, and the most handsome, or so he likes to tell us!
On Sunday there will be a birthday parade for Victor and Rusty at 1pm, with tractor rides, demonstrations and quizzes going on throughout the day. Rusty and Victor will each have their own yummy horsey birthday cake and the more of you that come along, the louder their birthday song will be! Our Caldecott Visitor Centre is open every day from 10am to 5pm. It has a café serving delicious paninis, soups, handmade cakes and Fair Trade teas and coffees; there is a gift shop on site packed full of Redwings gifts and an Information centre, 'Horse Wise' education centre and children's play area. Find out more or download a map to the site by following this link >>>>>. Alternatively please telephone our visitor centre helpline on 0870 040 0033. Meanwhile, find out more about how you can adopt Rusty, Victor or one of their friends for as little as £8.50 a year by telephoning 01508 481010 or following the link to our adoption pages >>>>>>. Redwings is entirely funded by public donation and all the money raised through our Adoption Scheme goes directly towards the care of your chosen horse or pony and their friends. In return you will receive a certificate of adoption plus two photos and letters a year from your new-found equine friend! And don't forget, visiting Redwings is free of charge as we want as many people as possible to have the chance to find out all about our work. We hope to see you soon!
