We will be holding a Backing and Rehabilitation Demo at our Hapton HQ on June 11th
Anyone wondering what it takes to get a rescued horse or pony able to enjoy a normal happy life with a family can find out on Wednesday 11 June at our Hapton HQ in Norfolk.
The centre is not normally open to the public but we are inviting people to come along on Wednesday evening to enjoy a special Backing & Rehabilitation Demonstration led by our Re-homing manager Emma Lacey and her team. The demonstration starts at 6pm and last for approximately 2 hours and refreshments will be available. Entry is free and places can be easily reserved beforehand.

Redwings has some 350-acres at our Hapton HQ, which is home to over 300 horses and our dedicated full-time re-homing centre where suitable horses and ponies become Guardianship Scheme equines and find new loving homes.
"We want to show people how some suitable horses and ponies start a journey to a new and happy life as part of a family perhaps as a riding horse, a show pony, a child's pony or companion equine," explains Re-homing Manager Emma Lacey. "Many of the equines we rescue are too elderly or have been too badly treated to be re-homed, but others benefit from being ridden or being a companion pony and it is these equines that we look to re-home. People are welcome to come and see what we do, whether they are interested in being a guardian or if they are just interested to see what we do - everyone is welcome."
Redwings' Guardianship Scheme matches suitable horses and ponies with new families that can offer an appropriate home. Home checks are carried out, and the equine remains legally the property of the charity, ensuring a safe future should circumstances change.
"We have lots of happy-ever-after stories," concludes Emma. "We have some ponies that have gone on to shine in the showjumping world, many that are companions and even one pony who travels to shows with a dressage horse to keep it company. It takes many hours of dedicated, committed and expert care to ensure that suitable equines can be placed with new homes and it's a privilege to be able to show the public how we work and let them see our facilities."
