Redwings HQ opens for a special weekend
Come and visit our Hapton estate on December 2nd and 3rd and join the festive fun!
The Christmas Open Weekend at our Hapton Estate in Norfolk is one of only two weekends a year that our headquarters are open to the public. We hope that this year more people than ever will come to join in the fun or escape the busy preparations and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Our 350-acre site, home to hundreds of special horses, will be open for visitors on the weekend of Saturday 2 December & Sunday 3 December from 10am to 3pm. The public is normally only able to visit our equines at one of our four Visitor Centres but at this time of year we like to invite people to see what happens at our headquarters and Horse Hospital and give everyone the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes.
Each day, you can enjoy a number of activities including veterinary tour and talks, re-homing displays, carriage rides, horse handling demonstrations, donkey talks, a festive grotto and the shop and cafĂ©. All the adoption horses from Caldecott and Stonham plus retired adoptions Ben and Willow will be there to enjoy a bit of fuss with those who adopt them. Also on hand meeting the children will be Red and Wings, the charity’s cuddly mascots.
Chief executive Lynn Cutress explains why we open the gates to our headquarters at special weekends such as this.
"Our headquarters at Hapton is not open to the public and spends its time running the visitor centres and caring for some of our most elderly and infirm residents. However, Hapton is a beautiful place and we love the public to come and see the horses, and what we do.
"Entry is free and there will be hot drinks and snacks available plus some horsey Christmas gifts. For those who like to catch up with what we have been doing or those who enjoy our peaceful surroundings, it’s a day well spent."
We hope to see you on the 2nd/3rd December!
