Visit us in Norfolk and Suffolk soonOur Caldecott and Stonham centres open for visitors on Sunday April 1st and everyone's welcome! The horses and ponies have spent the Winter at one of our closed centres in Norfolk, but they return to their homes at our Caldecott Visitor Centre in Norfolk and our Stonham Rescue Centre in Suffolk ready to meet their adoring public from April 1st! Both centres will be open every day from Sunday until October 28th, from 10am to 5pm, and everyone's welcome! Entry to all Redwings' visitor centres remains free of charge. Last year we were delighted to welcome more than 75,000 visitors, who enjoyed making friends with our rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and finding out all about how we take care of them.
Our Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk has over 70 acres of paddocks and is home to some very special rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. The site includes an information centre, gift shop, education centre and a café serving hot and cold snacks. Adopters of Darcey, Denise, Icky, Oliver, Sydney, Tufty and Victor will be able to meet up with their beloved equines for plenty of cuddles! Please note: We regret to inform you that Muffin, Rusty and their best friend April will not be returning to Caldecott in time for April 1. Muffin is currently receiving some minor veterinary treatment for sarcoids and needs to remain near our vet unit. As they are such close friends the three cannot be separated and need to stay at Hapton together. However, we hope they will return to Caldecott very shortly. Apologies for any disappointment caused. Meanwhile, Redwings' Rescue Centre in Suffolk is located at the Stonham Barns complex near Stonham Aspal. It provides seasonal grazing for more than 30 rescued horses, ponies and donkeys including adoption animals Choccy, Finnegan, Harry and Katy. There is an information centre and gift shop on site, with café and shopping facilities nearby. Don't forget, we also have visitor centres at the Ada Cole Rescue Centre in Harlow, Essex and Oxhill in Warwickshire, which are open all year round! To find out more about visiting Redwings, go to the Visit Us pages of this site or telephone our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033. We hope to see you soon!
