Horse around with us this year!Redwings opened all four of its visitor centres to the public this weekend after the winter closing. The centres are at Caldecott (near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk), Stonham (near Stowmarket in Suffolk), Ada Cole Rescue Centre (near Nazeing in Essex) and Oxhill Rescue Centre (in Warwickshire, ten miles south of Stratford-upon-Avon).For the first time – to make things easier for the public – all centres are open from April 1 and remain open until October 29, with the hours of 10am to 5pm. Also, the centres will be free entry again this year – an initiative that was started last year and was very popular. Last year 65,000 enjoyed a day out at Redwings and met the numerous horses, ponies and donkeys – all chosen to meet the public for their love of a bit of fuss.
“There’s nothing better than a day out in the fresh air,” explains chief executive Lynn Cutress, “and we think people prefer a peaceful day with our equines and enjoy meeting four-legged friends, perhaps having a picnic and getting lots of good country air." "All our centres are now free entry and because of that and the growing awareness of Redwings as an educational family day out, I am optimistic we can see our 2006 figures increase even further. Everyone is welcome here, of all ages.” To find out more about how to visit Redwings, follow this link to the Visit Us pages of this site or telephone our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033. We look forward to seeing you soon!
