To provide and promote the welfare, care and protection of horses ponies, donkeys and, mules

Mud, mud, glorious mud!

Owing to the very wet weather we have had over the weekend, our Stonham Rescue Centre in Suffolk has become severely waterlogged.

We had hoped to keep all horsey residents at the site until it closes for the season on Sunday October 30 but unfortunately the sudden muddiness means we now need to send the majority of our Stonham residents back to our (drier) Norfolk HQ early.

However, our four adoption animals Choccy, Harry, Katy and Finnegan, plus their friends, will remain at the site in dry cosy (mud free!) stables so that you can still visit them during this half-term week.

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but the weather is obviously beyond our control. The welfare of our horses, ponies and donkeys has to come first and we cannot have our miniature Shetlands disappearing into the mud!

Stonham will still be open every day until October 30 and entry is free if you would like to come and have a look around our gift shop and stable yard. Our Caldecott Visitor Centre near Great Yarmouth has fared much better in the poor weather and is also open every day until Sunday October 30.

If you would like more information about how to visit us, please call our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033 or go to the visit us pages of the website.

We hope to see you soon!
