Improve your equine knowledge with us

Redwings will be hosting its first ever Horse Owners' Day on Saturday September 9th at our Norfolk headquarters.

The day will give local horse owners and those working with horses the chance to increase their veterinary knowledge on major conditions such as laminitis and colic.

The course will take place at our Equine Hospital at Hapton, south of Norwich, and will be led by Redwings senior veterinary surgeon, Nicola Jarvis.

“The day’s course aims to get horse owners up to speed on certain subjects from a veterinary point of view and will include sessions on laminitis, colic, when to call the vet and how to put together an equine first aid kit,” explains Nicola.

A tour of our Hapton Equine Hospital

“Offering practical advice to horse owners means we are helping to prevent these serious equine conditions and hopefully demonstrate that we are far more than a horse sanctuary but a source of expert information as well.”

The day (10am to 3pm) will include prepared lectures, a practical clinical session, a question and answer session and a tour of the charity’s fully equipped equine hospital. The fee is £35 per delegate and will include a light lunch. The course will be most suited to people who already have some equine experience.

For more information or to book your place on the course, please contact Nicola Markwell on 01508 481014 or email nmarkwell@redwings.co.uk.
