Pint-sized Harry is a huge star! It's Harry's birthday this week and we'll be having a party on Sunday July 30 at our Stonham Rescue Centre in Suffolk where Harry lives. We'd like to invite you to come along and celebrate with Harry and all his friends - entry is free of charge and you don't have to be a Harry adopter - everyone's welcome!
We'll be having a birthday parade for Harry at 1pm complete with lots of singing and even an extra special equine birthday cake! There'll be loads of activities going on all day long, with horse care demos, tours of the site and loads of fun puzzles and quizzes. There'll also be plenty of chances to meet our tiny star Harry himself and all his cute Mini Shetland friends. Harry Potter (named after the famous wizard of course!) was the biggest and strongest of the stallions in a semi-wild herd of Miniature Shetlands rescued from Devon. In fact, he was the first to be caught when his inquisitive nature got the better of him! Despite having a club foot, which means he can never be ridden, Harry can usually be found causing his own particular brand of havoc with Frodo, his dinky partner in crime (pictured above, right). To adopt Harry or one of the other Redwings' adoption equines, go to the Adoptions pages of this site or telephone 01508 481010. It's just £8.50 a year and all the proceeds going directly towards the care of our rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules. If you are interested in coming along to Harry's birthday party, go to the Visit Us pages to find out how to reach our Stonham centre, or telephone 0870 040 0033. We would love to see you!
