Dolly to be the 'other' star on Father's Day!On Sunday June 15th it will be Dolly's birthday party at our Ada Cole centre in Essex.Beautiful Dolly is a very popular adoption pony and we would love as many people as possible to come and help us celebrate her birthday on Father's Day! You don't have to adopt Dolly to come along to her party on Sunday June 15th - everyone is welcome (especially all you dads!) and entry is free of charge.
The centre opens at 10am and during the morning there will be an appearance from mascots Red and Wings and a quiz trail, before it's time for Dolly's star turn at 1pm, complete with a special pony birthday cake just for her...although there's no doubt that best friends Troy and Henry won't be far away! The Ada Cole Rescue Centre in Essex is open to visitors every day of the year. It has an information centre and gift shop (which now also serves light refreshments) as well as more than 50 rescued horses, ponies, donkeys and mules, many of which are looking for homes through the Redwings Guardianship Scheme. They love visitors and we hope you will enjoy meeting them too! Dolly is a very special pony who had a very traumatic experience in her life when she was very young. She fell into a ditch and was stuck for three days before she was finally rescued. To make matters worse she had sustained severe injuries and she needed urgent veterinary attention but her owner was unable to afford the treatment. The vet approached the Ada Cole centre for help and they were delighted to intervene to ensure Dolly got the special care and treatment she needed.
