Christmas Opening at Redwings
If the winter blues are already setting in, then look no further. There will be two extra special Christmas Open Weekends taking place at Redwings this December guaranteed to raise your spirits.
On the weekend of December 3 and 4, we open the gates of our Hapton headquarters, a very beautiful 350-acre site in Norfolk that is home to many of our infirm and special care horses. Our adoption herds from Caldecott and Stonham will be available to visit (vet care permitting of course) and there will be the opportunity to enjoy a special guided tour of our specialist horse hospital and brand new Parklands Rehoming Centre. The centre will be open from 10am to 3pm, with hot drinks and snacks available all day. Entry is free and we would love to see you, so why not come along? There will even be the chance to meet our very own equine version of Santa!
Then on December 10th and 11th we will be holding a Festive Weekend at the Redwings Ada Cole Rescue Stables in Harlow, Essex. The centre is a new member of the Redwings family following the charity’s merger with Ada Cole in October, but one with a long-established reputation in the field of equine welfare. The centre has around 50 horses on site, some are available for adoption while others are there for rehabilitation with a view to finding them caring foster homes.
Over the weekend the centre will be open from 12 noon to 4pm and as well as the chance to meet the resident herd there will be horse care and grooming demonstrations, hot drinks and snacks available, plenty of Christmas shopping and another appearance from that elusive equine Santa Claus. Entry to the centre is free of charge.
To find out more about joining us for one of our special Christmas weekends, please telephone our visitor helpline on 0870 040 0033.
Our Hapton estate can be found off the A140 south of Norwich in Norfolk, while Ada Cole Rescue Stables is situated just off the B181 in Broadley Common, near Nazeing in Essex.
We look forward to seeing you!
