Welfare is at the heart of what we believe in
Thank you for supporting our Rescue and Welfare Work in 2006 – you’ve helped us in any number of ways:
- 3,000 is the number of telephone calls we received to our Welfare Hotline in 2006 – 01508 481008
- 423 is the number of locations we visited to offer welfare advice and assistance over the last 12 months.
- 188 is the number of horses, ponies and donkeys we brought into our care.
- 89 is the number of ponies we found guardians for through our Re-homing Scheme
- 12 is the number of national meetings attended by our Head of Welfare about the new Animal Welfare Bill to give horses, ponies and donkeys more protection under the law
- 4 is the number of successful prosecutions we helped to bring on owners as a result of their cruelty and neglect.

Your contribution will be put to a great number of uses…for example:
- £80 is enough to buy a Thermatex rug for a sick donkey like Alice (see above)
- £34 pays for antiseptic cream, dressings and bandages to start treating a leg wound like Ally's (below)
- £12 pays for a newly rescued pony to have an essential vaccination
- £7.50 makes up enough powdered milk substitute to feed a foal like Vortilla for a week (below)
